About Us
Sustainable Solano is a a grassroots, county-wide movement uniting people and their initiatives aiming to serve the future of Solano county, to promote ecologically sustainable, economically and socially just communities, a world that works for everyone. Sustainable Solano has grown out of 20 years of dedicated voluntary community work by Benicia Community Gardens — our own initiative to inspire and educate people about how to locally grow, regionally source, cook and enjoy healthy food.
As we are entering a new stage, we are looking for like-minded people across the county. It’s the beginning of a larger conversation at our community. What do you want to see in our future? What sustains you? What concerns you? Are you already doing something in your town? Are you inspired to act and join a larger movement? Would you like to learn more?
