About Us
Our mission is to protect and prevent the suffering of parrots in captivity by providing rescue and sanctuary to abused, neglected and unwanted companion parrots. We provide all of our residents with a healthful, mostly organic diet, certified avian veterinary care, and natural forms of enrichment. The Icarus Foundation, Inc.'s Chesapeake Parrot Sanctuary is available to the public to promote responsible ownership and proper parrot care through education and owner support. We do not breed or sell birds.
