The focus of the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics is to provide
ethical guidance to present and future decision makers in business,
politics and civil society. As a response to the actual debates on
ethical leadership and corporate responsibility, profit-oriented
entrepreneurship, the moral quality of market economy and fairness in
global market competition we face pressure to act and need for
discussion: How can the emerging global society accommodate the moral
ideals of responsibility and solidarity? How can these concepts be put
into practice? Which conditions must be met to do so? By help of our
specific approach to ethics and by scientific methodology we address
these issues in our seminars and ongoing initiatives for dialogue. Our
guiding principle and motor is the idea of social cooperation for mutual
 advantage.
