For over 47 years, NCEFT has helped thousands of children, adults, military Veterans, and First Responders with neurophysiological, cognitive, sensory processing, and psychosocial challenges. Internationally recognized as a leader in the field, we offer equine-assisted therapy, adaptive riding, Veterans and First Responders Programs, summer camp, special education school programs, and a wide range of other equine-assisted activities at our beautiful 12-acre facility in Woodside, California.
Equine-assisted therapy (physical, occupational, and speech therapy conducted on horseback) is an approved treatment tool by professional physical, occupational, and speech therapy associations. With the distinction of being the only Northern California facility member of the American Hippotherapy Association, NCEFT pioneered one of the nation’s first equine-assisted therapy programs. Currently providing more than 5,000 sessions year, our programs are specialized to treat every individual, no matter their age, background, or diagnosis.
NCEFT is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation (ID# 94-2378104) and depends upon the generous contributions of our donors to maintain the excellence of our facility and programs. We are a Platinum Guidestar.org Participant, a Top-Rated GreatNonProfits.org member with a five-star rating, and a certified EQUUS Foundation 2018 Guardian.
Our strong commitment to the concept of Horses, Hope, and Healing is personified in our mission statement:
