Old Stone House and Washington Park

  • About Us

The Old Stone House is a reconstruction of the Vechte-Cortelyou House, a stone farmhouse originally built in 1699 and the site of the Battle of Brooklyn. On August 27, 1776 Washington's troops faced off against some 20,000 British and Hessian troops. Today the site functions as a small house museum and cultural site and the center of Washington Park.
