  • About Us

    Mission:

IDONTMIND’s mission is to inspire open conversations about mental health and to provide free resources, education, and encouragement for anyone who needs it. Whether someone is living with a mental illness or working to improve their overall mental health, IDONTMIND offers an inclusive community where all are welcome and healing is possible.

We’re dedicated to fostering a community that champions mental wellness and works to break down the stigmas and barriers surrounding mental health and mental health care. We hope to support individuals on their journey toward mental wellness so that everyone can prioritize and feel proud of their mental health.

    Goals:

    Empower young people

    • Over 75% of IDONTMIND’s audience is under the age of 34. One of the key goals is to empower this demographic to prioritize their mental health and well-being. We attempt to reach people in a way that feels familiar, speaking the same language and meeting them where they are.

    Share lived experiences

    • By sharing personal stories centered on lived experiences, IDONTMIND aims to provide a platform for people to connect and learn from each other. It also provides inspiration for others who may be struggling with similar issues and can help to show actionable steps a person can take on a path towards healing.

    Ensure equity and accessibility

    • IDONTMIND is committed to promoting equity and diversity by featuring a range of voices and offering free programming and training to eliminate barriers to accessing resources. We believe people should be paid for their time and talents, which strengthens our commitment to equity. When we work with people/organizations outside of IDONTMIND, we offer an honorarium in order to create a more equitable world.

    Innovate in mental health

    • IDONTMIND will continue to approach the mental health space with an innovative mindset, leveraging technology, creativity, and other means to reach as many people as possible. Our aim is to find unique approaches to mental health awareness and to generate open conversations through a multitude of mediums and platforms. We constantly work to find new ways of reaching people, and our work is informed by the belief that the most useful and best approach is always right around the corner.

Foster a supportive and inclusive community

    • IDONTMIND aims to bring individuals together from all across America to support one another on their mental health journeys, through its social media channels and community events. Through local events, we engage a community with exciting mental health-focused conversations, play readings, concert fundraisers, 5k runs, meditation events, art exhibitions, film festivals, and more.

Promote mental health advocacy and action

    • IDONTMIND seeks to inspire and equip individuals to take action and advocate for better mental health for themselves and others. We create a direct path for people interested in advocacy by turning their interest into action.
