  • About Us

Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) is an international human rights organisation with a particular focus on minorities.

Established in 2003 in the Hague, GHRD addresses those populations and areas of the world where severe and extensive human rights violations have been taking place and where global attention and international structural help have been lacking.

Working in the South-Asia region, GHRD operates through three main pillars: human rights reporting, humanitarian aid and human rights education (in the region, the Netherlands and throughout Europe).

GHRD currently has liaison-offices in Bangladesh, India and Nepal/Bhutan. Additionally, GHRD keeps active contacts with representatives in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
