The mission of the National Health Corps is to use community and national service to increase access to health care for underserved communities, promote health, reduce health care costs and develop new health care professionals. Founded in 1994, the NHC supports 94 members who serve at sites in Chicago, North Florida, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. NHC members serve at over 60 community host sites including community health centers, county health departments, schools and community-based public health organizations.
