Fundación A mano manaba is a non-profit organization that offers educational programs in a tiny fishing village in northern Manabí, Ecuador. We have built the Centro Intercultural A mano manaba CIAMM that houses the Library, training areas and a volunteer suite. For the last 2 years, since a 7.8 earthquake hit the coastal towns of Manabí Ecuador, we have been working with the children and women of Don Juan in order to empower them and broaden their opportunities. Our main focus are the young girls. We believe that supporting the educational process of girls age 10-12 will make a substantially change in the gender dynamics and unsettle the structurally patriarchal domination of women and children in this culture.
