  • About Us

Since 2008, the Bay Area Urban Debate League (BAUDL) has provided a forum for over 450 San Francisco Bay Area students to research and argue the most pressing issues of our time. Working directly with both the Oakland and San Francisco Unified school districts, the BAUDL creates and maintains debate teams in under-resourced public high schools and middle schools. Today, 17 dynamic teams embody the belief that competitive policy debate increases academic performance and empowers future community leaders. Several BAUDL alums -- now in college -- are a testament to recent research that deems debate an agent of change.
