  • About Us

Living with diabetes is challenging. Since 1984, hundreds of families with children with type 1 diabetes in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan turn to DYS. Children with type 1 diabetes, and their parents, need to learn how to manage diabetes on a long-term, daily basis. DYS provides education to help children develop skills to effectively and independently cope with frequent finger sticks, injections, pump management, carbohydrate counting, and diabetic complications. DYS help both children and parents face everything from life-threatening emergencies to everyday frustrations.
