    The central philosophy of the South Bend Empowerment Zone lies in the centering of the student- and family- experience via the empowerment of leaders and educators at each school to respond to their needs in service to stronger academic, social, and emotional outcomes for our students.

    Our purpose is to eliminate academic and social-emotional opportunity gaps and cultivate the greatness that exists within each child to confidently thrive and pursue their dreams in our city, nation, and world. We will do this by nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of each child by embracing equity, learning, and change for students, staff, and families. We harness the power of community and relationships to ignite transformation.
