East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church

We are a Mennonite faith community of 150+ located on the east side of Lancaster City, PA. We seek transformed by God’s mercy, grace and love, to share Christ's love with our neighbors, to equip one another to live peaceably and generously, and and to contribute to the well-being of Lancaster city and the wider world.

We value vulnerability and authenticity in our relationships. We desire to build friendships of mutuality with our city neighbors. We care deeply about issues of justice, peace, environmental care, and dismantling racism. In 2021, our congregation voted to welcome LGBTQ+ persons to participate in every aspect of church life, including becoming members, having our pastors officiate at their weddings, and being called to pastoral ministry.

We serve a weekly Community Meal for 200+ of our city neighbors. We work with the Chestnut Housing Corporation to provide affordable housing for those coming out of homelessness. We have walked with several refugee families as they’ve resettled in our city.
