    Founded in 1979, the Jamaica Center Business Improvement District seeks to make the Jamaica Center business district a vibrant and enjoyable destination to shop, work and socialize; and a downtown of choice for businesses to locate and thrive.

    To accomplish this, the BID hosts an array of programs. We administer supplemental maintenance services; beautify the public space; market and promote the district; act to retain and recruit complimentary businesses; encourage quality urban design; and advocate on behalf of this urban downtown.
