Peace Corps service is a life-defining leadership experience. Volunteers serve in more than 60 countries throughout Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin and South America, Eastern Europe, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East. Peace Corps Volunteers live, learn, and work with a community abroad for 27 months, providing technical assistance in six program areas: Agriculture, Community Economic Development, Education, Environment, Health, and Youth in Development. Volunteers receive a phenomenal international experience that complements their degree and gain valuable skills helping others help themselves. Volunteers receive a monthly stipend, transportation, medical and dental care, and a readjustment allowance at the end of their service. Returned Volunteers also receive non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs.
