The Endangered Language Fund provides grants in support of the documentation and revitalization of endangered languages. With an estimated 6,000 languages spoken in the world, it is projected that at least half will disappear within this century. Language documentation and revitalization is of great importance to communities that speak minority languages and to the field of linguistics.
