Filmworks was established in 2010 to tell dramatic stories about African
Americans that challenge the traditional characters and narratives of
mainstream film. In 2014, DK Filmwork’s first film, Comeuppance, was an official selection of several film festivals,
including Roxbury International Film Festival, Action on Film Festival,
Heritage Film Festival, and the San Francisco Black Film Festival where it
received 2nd place honors for Best Short.We do have fiscal sponsorship with From the Heart Productions giving us 501 c 3 status.
