The Sister to Sister Foundation is the first organization dedicated to women's heart disease prevention.
Since 1999, Sister to Sister has collaborated with leading medical experts in the cardiovascular field to educate women on understanding their personal risk for heart disease and concurrently, how healthy lifestyle choices can reduce that risk by up to 82 percent. We partner with several of the foremost hospitals in the United States and abroad, including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Johns Hopkins, and the Hadassah Medical Center to provide education on heart disease prevention to women worldwide.
We empower women through positive messaging to make simple, manageable wellness, medical and lifestyle changes in their daily lives to lead to improved heart-health. This includes recommendations for nutrition and healthy cooking, sodium reduction, physical activity levels, smoking cessation, managing stress and understanding your family health history.
As the nation's leading provider of free heart-health evaluations, Sister to Sister has performed 100,000 cardiovascular screenings with immediate results and counseling sessions to women of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.
In addition to live cardiac screenings with behavior-change counseling, our programs include an online assessment and action tools, international health programs and educational materials, and awareness campaigns that heart disease is a woman’s #1 health threat.
