    The Sankofa House for Women, Inc. is a non-profit organization in collaboration with agencies and organizations that provides substance abuse and mental health treatment, GED classes, parenting classes, food and nutrition classes, and etc. The Sankofa House for Women, Inc. is located in a Weed and Seed targeted area in the Northwest Region of Pennsylvania. The Sankofa House for Women, Inc. is considered, a community-based transition program initiative. This service supports the area of Public Health and Safety with regards to adults returning from incarceration. Currently, we can accommodate up to 5 women at one given time. However, we are currently in the process of securing a much larger property. The length of stay for a Sankofa House program participant is up to one year. The Sankofa House for Women, Inc. incorporated in June 2003 and currently averaging a 56% success rate.
