Food Well Alliance

  • About Us

Food Well Alliance is a collaborative network of local leaders working together to build thriving community gardens and urban farms. As an Alliance, we believe that locally-grown food is a tool to build healthier communities and that thriving gardens and farms strengthen the heart of cities.

Metro Atlanta is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, with 56 cities located in Cobb, Clayton, Dekalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties. By 2030, the population of metro Atlanta is expected to jump by at least 25%. As our cities become more dense and developed, our goal is to equip local growers, local governments and city residents with the tools they need to protect and support food-producing spaces.

To build thriving farms and gardens, metro Atlanta cities must prioritize urban agriculture and invite community members to the planning table. Food Well Alliance accomplishes it’s mission through three core programs that mobilize:

    GROWERS

Through our Resource Center, we provide centralized funding, training and resources to build a supportive ecosystem for urban farmers & community gardeners to thrive.

    CITY GOVERNMENT

Through our Policy & Planning we engage city governments to develop inclusive policies that prioritize gardens and farms in their development.

    RESIDENTS

Through our Events & Experiences, we re-connect city dwellers to the land and soil, to where their food comes from and to the people who grow it.

    Join us.
