About Us
Ruffner Mountain Nature Coalition, Inc. is a grass-roots community-based organization which manages a 550-acre publicly owned nature preserve in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to preserving critical wildlife and plant habitats, we offer nature education for elementary and high school students and adults, hiking and outdoor recreation. Our mission is to preserve this undeveloped land, expand where possible, and educate our residents of the importance of natural spaces to people and wildlife.
