At GGYC, we recognize the need for a safe, friendly environment where children can receive a quality education as well as find extra-curricular and educational activities that keep them off the street. Likewise, it can be a challenge for retired community members to find affordable housing and volunteer opportunities close to home. We address both of these concerns with our varied programs that we offer to the community of San Antonio.
Our most recent program is Project H.O.P.E. (Harnessing Optimism and Potential through Education/Employment).Through Project H.O.P.E. we have been given the opportunity to help ex-offenders with job readiness training, career orientated certification, job placement and acquiring a High School Diploma . We also have a component that allows individuals who qualify to be a mentor, the opportunity of mentoring ex-offenders who are currently in Project H.O.P.E.in order to lower the recidivism rate in our communities.
