Community Giving Tree

Community Giving Tree’s mission to help families in need raise happy, healthy children while creating a more sustainable community. It was founded on the principle of neighbors helping neighbors, and has become a bridge between those that have and those that need. Everyday essentials (mostly gently-used) are collected from the community and then distributed through a network of social service partners to families in need. These essential items, such as clothing, diapers and baby equipment, help to keep children safe, comfortable and warm, and can also improve their emotional well-being. Community Giving Tree offers a green way to reduce and reuse, while also helping disadvantaged children living in low-income or homeless situations or during times of crisis. We engage the community to become part of the solution as in-kind donors, as volunteers that support our operations, and as financial donors through meaningful philanthropy.

Community Giving Tree has grown significantly since its grassroots beginning in 2002 and today operates two Giving Centers in Boxford and Lawrence. The organization has 11 part-time, dedicated staff members and an amazing team of volunteers. Last year we provided over 15,000 local children with the basic necessities to help them grow and thrive.
