Heifer International is a non-profit organization that works to end hunger and poverty, while caring for the earth. Heifer works with small, community groups to build sustainable, family farms. Each family that receives an animal from Heifer International contracts to 'pass on the gift', that is to pass on the first female offspring or equivalent to another member of the community, thereby creating a chain of giving.
