Bridge Refugee Services is a private, non-profit agency serving refugees in East Tennessee since 1982. With assistance from the federal government, the Tennessee Office for Refugees, and private organizations, Bridge has resettled refugees from Sudan, Liberia, Iraq, Burundi, Burma, Moldova, Iran, Cuba, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and many other countries. Some fled war. Others fled social, ethnic, or religious persecution. All were victims. All feared for their lives. Bridge helps these men, women, and children learn English, go to school, find employment, and integrate in the Knoxville and Chattanooga areas. Bridge seeks to “welcome the stranger.” Will you help them find refuge, compassion, and support in our community?
