    The University of Miami's Master of Arts in International Administration Program (MAIA) is a unique interdisciplinary international affairs degree, renowned for its integration of both theory and practice and specifically designed to fit the lifestyles of busy working adults. Together with hybrid course options (50% online and 50% in-person evening courses), optional internships, and a diverse faculty of professors and practitioners, students emerge with the expertise needed to further their career in the post-pandemic world. 

    MAIA is ideal for all students who seek employment or advancement in the international sector. Whether you are interested in government service, non-profit organizations, NGO’s, or international for-profit organizations, MAIA prepares you leadership roles in both domestic and international contexts, combining the academic considerations of geopolitics, culture, organizational leadership,and security studies.

    Degree Requirements: 30 credits (10 courses, 1-year option), No GRE required

    Tracks: Security Management • Geospatial Technology (GIS) • Risk Communications • Health Equity and Human Rights • International Crime and Justice

    Tuition Assistance: The MAIA program offers partial tuition waivers to eligible students. MAIA is also a partner program in the Coverdell (Peace Corps), Rangel (U.S. State Dept), Pickering (U.S. State Dept), and Payne (USAID) Fellowships.

    Dual Degree Options:

    MAIA/MPH - The dual master's degree in public health and international administration (MPH/MAIA) combines the innovative MAIA program with the world-class program offered at the University of Miami's School of Medicine Department of Public Health Sciences. The program integrates social, economic, political, cultural, environmental, and ecological aspects of issues of international health and international health policy development.

    MAIA/MPA - The MAIA program also offers a dual degree in public administration (MPH/MAIA) which is designed for students who wish to obtain extensive training in policy and management from both domestic and global perspectives. The MAIA/MPA is offered through a partnership with the top-ranked faculty at the College of Arts & Sciences' Department of Political Science.
