    The Peace Corps recruits U.S. citizens to serve in developing countries around the world. Peace Corps Volunteers undergo 3 months of training and dedicate 2 years of service overseas, working in the following areas: education, health and HIV/AIDS, agriculture, business development, information technology and the environment.

    In addition to an experience of a lifetime, Peace Corps Volunteers receive paid travel and living expenses, medical and dental benefits, a $6,075 readjustment allowance at the end of service and non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs.

    The DC Regional Office serves applicants from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
