  • About Us

Believing that every child in the District of Columbia deserves a Fair Chance to succeed, the mission of Fair Chance is to strengthen the sustainability of nonprofit organizations and their leaders to transform the lives of children and youth living in poverty.

Fair Chance was established in 2002 to ensure that children and youth living in the communities of greatest need have access to quality programs that will allow them to thrive. Fair Chance is a nonprofit organization that strengthens the nonprofit sector by providing comprehensive capacity building services through yearlong partnerships. Fair Chance works one-on-one with Executive Directors and Boards of Directors from partner organizations to build sound organizational infrastructure, increase internal capacity, and position each partner organization for long-term self-sustainability.
