Sierra Club California

  • About Us

The Sierra Club is a non-profit, member-supported, public interest organization that promotes the conservation of our natural environment by influencing public policy decisions - legislative, administrative, legal, and electoral.

In 1986, Sierra Club members realized that they needed to speak with one voice in the state Capitol to help protect the California environment. They formed Sierra Club California.

Since then, Sierra Club California has become the clear conscience of the state's environmental movement. Our volunteers, staff lobbyists, organizers, policy experts, and consultants have influenced every notable, groundbreaking state-level environmental policy adopted in California in the last 30 years.
