  • About Us

For 40 years Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia (FFL) has been an independent, charitable organization supporting and safeguarding the 54-branch Free Library of Philadelphia system. By establishing and assisting a network of neighborhood-based volunteer Friends Groups, FFL connects residents to their libraries. Our 48 Friends Groups strengthen their neighborhoods by serving as leaders, advocating for stable and equitable library services for all of the city’s children and adults, and helping keep their libraries relevant through special programs and book collections.
