It accomplishes this by providing grant funding and capacity building support for local medical, dental, and behavioral health services; by helping uninsured adults obtain free prescription medications via The Pharmacy Connection software; and by promoting enrollment of Virginia's children in the state child-health insurance programs (FAMIS and FAMIS Plus). Over the past 20 years, VHCF grants totaling $40.1 million have contributed to a 618% increase in heatlh care safety net sites in Virginia (from 33 to 204).
