Junkyard Social Club

The Junkyard is a non-profit, intergenerational venue for curious and creative play. Together, we build from nothing, reuse everything, and achieve great things from humble beginnings. Our mission is to promote science, art, and togetherness through adventurous play. The Junkyard is a truly unique community space for Boulder, an adventure playground/rebel museum/cafe, accessible to participants of all ages.

We currently host art, science, and maker classes, camps, and events for kids and families in addition to holding regular hours for free-play and coffee shop hangouts. We offer affordable co-working and free-play times aimed at giving families a truly welcoming, intergenerational, and communal alternative to typical coffee shops, beer gardens, and bounce houses. We’ve designed a space where kids and adults can co-exist and have enriched experiences at their own level, together and autonomously. Our programs and events are aimed at developing the skills of divergent thinking: creative problem solving and expression, curiosity, critical thinking, and open conversation. We connect new people, spark new ideas, and give our community the tools to create the world around them.
