    United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA) is dedicated to leading the United Way movement to address pressing human services issues plaguing communities throughout the Washington, D.C metropolitan area, including the counties of Montgomery and Prince George's in Maryland, Fairfax/Falls Church, Alexandria, Loudoun, and Prince William in Virginia, and the District of Columbia. UWNCA is committed to serving the needs of the community. UWNCA provides individuals a channel to support to more than 1,200 local participating agencies managed by non-profit organizations. Gifts to UWNCA support the arts, the environment, health agencies, and national charities, thus providing the local community with a reliable and ever-present safety net. It offers present-day help, while ensuring that hope is available for people long into the future.
