    Quintessence Theatre Group's mission is to re-envision the classics for present-day audiences while remaining true to the epic scope and poetic text. Quintessence attracts both national recognized and local actors who find challenge and inspiration in its thought-provoking and innovative productions. It is the only professional theater company in culturally and economically diverse Northwest Philadelphia. During its first seven seasons, it presented five shows a year (two in repertory) plus an Elemental Reading Series and educational programming. Season VIII will see exciting changes at Quintessence presents its first musical and initiatives a Family Classics Series designed for families with younger children. A goal of Quintessence's recently completed strategic plan is to become a nationally recognized theater and center for Shakespeare education.
