Lenfest Scholars Foundation

The Lenfest College Scholarship Program has helped high-achieving, low-income rural students from throughout Pennsylvania enroll and succeed in college since 2002. Originally housed under the umbrella of the Philadelphia-based Lenfest Foundation, the LCSP began by selecting high school juniors from five central PA high schools to receive college scholarships, assistance in applying for college admission and financial aid, and advice and support throughout their college years. The program’s early success led to an increase in the number of scholars and to expand the number of partner high schools from 5 to 23. In 2015, the Lenfest Scholars Foundation was created by the support of an anonymous gift that ensures the scholarship program would continue in perpetuity.
