Development Gateway

Development Gateway is an international nonprofit delivering data and digital solutions for international development.

We build upon nearly two decades of technical expertise to develop tools, processes, and custom analyses to make development data easier to gather, access, use, and understand.

We are creative thinkers and doers dedicated to finding practical solutions to complex development challenges. Headquartered in DC, we are a global team with colleagues based in 10+ countries and experience working across more than 70 countries.

We believe technology can be a tool for decision makers, but never the tool on its own. Using problem-driven iterative adaptation (PDIA), we aim to understand the goals, incentives, and challenges in each data ecosystem, and co-create solutions that deliver results.

Our core focus areas are Total Resource Governance (open contracting and procurement, aid management, and extractives); Effective Service Delivery (data for agriculture and public health, data management systems, and monitoring/evaluation/learning); and Data Strategy & Policy (including results data, data standards, and open data advocacy).
