Brandeis University Education Program

  • About Us

The Brandeis Master of Arts in Teaching Program (MAT) is a year-long intensive program rooted in social justice which prepares students with strong liberal arts backgrounds to become highly qualified, licensed classroom teachers. The program combines two summers of study on the Brandeis campus with a nine-month internship in a public elementary or secondary (middle or high) school or a Jewish day school, in the Boston area. The Brandeis Teacher Leadership Program recognizes that the most important change agents in education are our classroom teachers. Teachers change lives day after day, and the influence of many extends beyond their classrooms, schools, and communities. This hybrid program brings together cohorts of like-minded gifted teachers to learn skills essential to becoming an effective Teacher Leader.
