CEJA’s role is to advance an environmental justice (EJ) agenda in statewide policy, guided by the lived experiences of the communities we serve, and to grow the power and breadth of the EJ movement. Our work is based in the belief that no one EJ organization can win by itself; we need to be in a strategic alliance with each other to address the root causes of environmental and climate injustice.

As a key member of one of CEJA’s core programs, you will work to: lead, coordinate, and partner on strategic climate initiatives; analyze, research, and advance climate justice policy at state agencies; track and advance climate justice legislative bills; participate in public hearings and provide comments when necessary; implement strong climate justice regulatory measures; participate in and support local community efforts and initiatives; support CEJA communications strategy; advance analysis on environmental and climate federal and state investments; develop strategy documents and materials for coalition members and partners; advance fossil fuel transition strategies and provide strategic climate solutions to advance CEJA programs.

The Climate Justice Manager will exercise good judgment and maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities and enjoys working within a diverse organization that is mission-driven and community-oriented.

  • Communications: Work closely with the communications team and the Climate Justice Director to develop timely and relevant communications materials; as requested by the Communications Director and Climate Justice Director, serve as a media spokesperson on CEJA’s Climate Justice work.
