    Community Program Director- International District Community Center, Indianapolis

    Job Description:

    The International District Community Center (IDCC) is seeking a dynamic and innovative community minded leader with strong relationship building and program development skills. This crucial role will foster relationships between the IDCC and community partners to bring programming and resources to our community members. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude. Those who speak Spanish and Haitian Creole, in addition to English, are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Position: Full time, salary commensurate with experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    Programs and Services:

    • Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill IDCC objectives
    • Establish new program activities and expand assigned programs within the community in accordance with community needs and IDCC’s mission.
    • Oversee community events and programs that positively impact the community, increase visibility of the IDCC and promote neighborhood involvement
    • Compile program statistics and monitor/evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in assigned programs
    • Analyze community needs and feedback, create responsive programming and support the Executive Director on strategic decisions that reflect community interests and needs

    Partnerships and Engagement:

    • Forge and maintain partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions to support and enhance outreach efforts
    • Support Executive Director in managing relationships with local neighborhood associations
    • Work with other nonprofits to bring their programming to the IDCC

    Staff & Volunteer Leadership:

    • Manage community program volunteer recruitment, training, and retention programs (this does not include the IDCC Board of Directors)
    • Recruit, hire, train, and manage program staff as needed including setting schedules, evaluating performance and staff recognition

    Marketing:

    • Create and distribute program information and marketing materials to grow program registration
    • Generate and distribute outreach materials (brochures, newsletters) to communicate the organization's initiatives and successes
    • Develop social media content and help manage IDCC social media pages

    Funding and Growth:

    • Assist the Executive Director to identify grant opportunities, sponsorships, and other funding sources to support outreach activities
    • Work with Grants Department to communicate funding needs/opportunities, ensure grant compliance, and support in grant reporting

    Miscellaneous:

    • Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
    • Understand and accept IDCC’s mission and vision
    • Must receive CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire
    • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Three or more years of programming or leadership experience, ideally in community oriented or nonprofit role

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong PC skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite and Outlook
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Previous experience in a front-facing customer service role or providing administrative support to management
    • General knowledge of standard office equipment, such as printers, scanners and copiers
    • Bilingual proficiency preferred, with fluency in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole.
    • Exceptional customer service skills, both written and verbal
