    Facing History & Ourselves is a global education non-profit organization that challenges teachers and students to use lessons of history to stand up to bigotry and hate.

    The Platform Manager will be a key member of the Project Management Office (PMO) and will be responsible for supporting the organization in its adoption of Clickup. This role involves collaborating across teams to create and manage projects and workflows, as well as providing training and support to staff across various departments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of project management principles, a knack for process improvement, strong critical thinking and relationship building skills, and of course, expertise in using ClickUp.

    Who We Are: The Project Management Office (PMO) is a small and relatively new team within the Operations department at Facing History. We work cross functionally to support large projects and initiatives, collaborating with colleagues across the organization. We have recently adopted a new project management platform, ClickUp, and are seeking an additional team member who can take our implementation to the next level. We care deeply about the work that Facing History does in the field of education.

    Who You Are: You are experienced in the field of project management and have strong knowledge of ClickUp and similar project management platforms. You love to dig into new systems and learn how they work, and you are adept at working with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You are operationally minded and enjoy finding opportunities to improve processes. You are comfortable working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and thrive in a collaborative environment. You are passionate about Facing History’s mission and excited to use your skills in a nonprofit setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Platform Development, Management & Maintenance

    • Leverage expertise in ClickUp in order to help the organization adopt and then maximize its usage, including new features and releases
    • Build and support management of new projects, processes, dashboards, automations, and integrations in ClickUp, in partnership with teams from across the organization
    • Create and document standards and governance procedures for Facing History’s use of ClickUp
    • Serve a primary point of contact for working with ClickUp, including escalating issues, accessing support, renewing contracts, etc.
    • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the Project Management Office (PMO) on establishing best project management practices as it relates to ClickUp
    • Regularly review use of ClickUp across the organization and make recommendations to promote use and adoption
    • Serve as a thought partner to teams and initiatives on how to best utilize ClickUp for their needs
    • Collaborate closely with Technology team partners to follow organization protocols on data security, platform maintenance, and other best practices
    • Manage permissions and maintain accuracy of staff data within ClickUp (e.g. keeping “Teams” updated)

    Operations, Training & Support

    • Develop documentation and guides to support staff in utilizing ClickUp
    • Develop and provide initial training to new staff during onboarding period and ongoing training/support to staff across the org as needed

    Essential Skills and Qualities:

    • Minimum of 3+ years of work experience with a minimum of 1 year of strong demonstrated experience with ClickUp required; experience with other similar project management software (i.e. Jira, Monday, Asana, etc) preferred
    • Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree. Additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
    • Experience planning, creating, and facilitating training and support to non-technical staff from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels
    • Demonstrated experience creating clear written documentation and training materials
    • Ability to identify and implement process and operational improvements
    • Experience working in nonprofit organizations and understanding nonprofit business processes
    • Experience in using Salesforce, preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and communication skills
    • Ability to balance big-picture strategic thinking with excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a small team environment
    • Willingness to seek help and thought partnership when needed
    • Ability, appetite, and willingness to quickly learn and adapt

    Remote First/Hybrid Work Model: Facing History and Ourselves operates in a hybrid work model, allowing staff flexibility in both schedules and work locations. This particular position is home-based. Some travel is required.

These bands are benchmarked to external market factors and our own internal pay structure. New hires, in most cases, can expect an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
