Paralegal- Foreclosure Defense

Legal Services of New Jersey, an Edison-based non-profit that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income New Jerseyans, has an opening for a paralegal who has a commitment to serving people living in poverty.

This opportunity will support intake and litigation LSNJ’s Foreclosure Defense Project, which provides essential legal representation to low-income homeowners seeking to keep their homes. The position requires excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, and a minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to apply even if they do not have all of the experience listed.  Experienced candidates will have previous experience supporting litigation, including all forms of discovery, drafting pleadings, motions and class actions. Experience with foreclosure procedures and consumer law a plus. Also valued are Spanish-speaking ability and prior relevant experience assisting low-income people.
