    Description

    Title: Development Consultant

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Status: 10-15 hours/week, 6 Month Contract

    Fully Remote or Hybrid

    Better Future Project is looking for an experienced and dynamic development professional to collaborate with our diverse team to realize our next stage of growth and development. The Development Consultant will work in tandem with the Development Manager to ensure the organization’s successful identification and actualization of funding sources, including foundations, major donors, and events to enable the organization to continue on its growth trajectory to build the movement to address the climate crisis. Position salary based on experience.

    Responsibilities

    Assist in providing long-term direction and strategy for resource seeking

    Devising an annual plan for fundraising initiatives and establish a fundraising calendar with input from the Development Manager and Executive Director

    Identifying new foundation leads

    Reviewing and updating current letters of intent, grant proposals, grant reports, and other fundraising materials

    Conducting major donor cultivation and communication in partnership with the Executive Director

    Assist in crafting compelling narratives and impact stories for fundraising materials, website content, and social media platforms

    Identifying, proposing, and overseeing new fundraising activities to diversify our revenue base

    Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience

    Work experience: At least 2-5 years’ direct fundraising experience

    Experience writing grant proposals and identifying prospective foundations

    Understand fundraising and finance in the context of a small, young, and grassroots organization.

    Understanding of nonprofit revenue streams, including restricted and unrestricted grant funding, individual donations.

    Fundraising and/or CRM database experience such as NationBuilder or Salesforce

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Flexible remote work schedule.
