    Summit Assistance Dogs is searching for a dedicated and socially mindful Fund Development Associate to support the organization, especially in this time of growth, by creating and implementing strategies that will increase the diversity of the donor base and allow for a sustainable future. The Fund Development Associate reports to the Director and will work with the Associate Director, Board of Directors, and the entire staff to cultivate a strong donor base and reach new audiences by coordinating workplace and community outreach events. 

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

    Communications and Social Media

    • Manage, design and schedule social media content, to include PR and marketing.
    • Create and coordinate publications of monthly e-mail newsletter, annual letter and other public correspondence.
    • Identify virtual giving opportunities and manage coordinated appeals such as Giving Tuesday and Give Big WA.

    Outreach Events Coordination

    • Assume a key role in creating, planning and implementation of the organization's annual benefit events, including recruitment and coordination of ambassadors, soliciting sponsorships, program production, coordination with venues, and event follow-up.
    • Recruit, coordinate, and communicate with corporate giving campaign leads and volunteers, and conduct year-round donor visits and virtual check-ins for the purpose of increasing outreach to corporation employees
    • Create and deliver presentations, coordinate volunteer events, and attend speaking engagements as required throughout the year.

    Donor Relations

    • Assist in database management such as creating and editing records; adding communication logs to constituent records; running queries and reports.
    • Assist with planning and implementation of major donor appreciation events.
    • Manage database with donor and sponsor gift entry and assist with community, donor and sponsor acknowledgement.

    Desired Skills/Attributes:

    • Professional or volunteer experience in fundraising and donor relations coordination.
    • Friendly, outgoing, professional, and able to build and maintain long-term relationships.
    • Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Team player with the ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively, both verbally and in writing with other staff, volunteers, clients, and donors.
    • Ability to maintain donor and client confidentiality.
    • Comfortable and familiar with dogs; able to work well with clients who speak or demonstrate with their service dogs at events.
    • Strong organizational and record keeping skills; proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Design Suite, Little Green Light CRM, and all social media platforms.
    • Availability to work a varied schedule at times; some early morning and weekend outreach required.
    • Ability to attend events around the Puget Sound and Greater Seattle Area with personal or Summit Assistance Dogs vehicles. 

    Reports To: Associate Director

    Base Pay: $42,000-$46,000 (based on hourly wages)

    Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs. per week
