Addressing climate change is a central challenge of our time; the actions we take now will help determine the safety and prosperity of billions of people living today and set a framework for generations to come.

As New Yorkers, we are uniquely positioned to have an outsized impact on climate outcomes around the globe. New York is the world’s 11th largest economy; what we do in New York builds markets, reshapes industries and incentivizes billions of dollars of investment. As a prominent, large state, New York’s actions set a precedent that can scale to other states and around the world.

Spring Street Climate Fund identifies opportunities to win climate policy in New York that can make a difference globally, and works with grassroots organizations throughout the state to turn ambitious ideas into public policy reality. We act as a force multiplier in the climate movement, helping supercharge the grassroots organizing that can turn New York into a powerful driver of progress.

    • Run strong campaigns
      • Help to identify and select priority campaigns that meet our criteria: winnable, meaningful opportunities where winning change in New York can make a difference on a global scale.
      • Develop and execute on campaign plans, set strategy, and win outcomes
      • Work with press consultants to create strategic coverage of our priority campaigns.
    • Partner with movement allies
      • Find opportunities to move coalition efforts forward and provide meaningful support to grassroots partners.
      • Build collaborative relationships with allies in the climate and environmental justice movements in New York.
      • Represent Spring Street in coalitions, bringing Spring Street’s resources to support the efforts of priority campaigns.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A demonstrated understanding of what will move elected officials and decision makers to support campaign goals.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with allies, activists, and partner organizations.
    • Experience organizing in communities with racial, ethnic, and class diversity, and a commitment to supporting leaders of color.
    • Fun thinking creatively and strategically about compelling campaign tactics.
    • Experience working on small, dynamic teams.
    • Experience managing multiple tasks with an eye for detail and organization.
