    A Song For You, a 501c3, not-for-profit arts organization, founded at the height of the pandemic in 2020, (secured non profit status in 2022 & a 501c3 9 months ago) seeks an experienced Part-time Executive Director to join our team.

    ASFY is committed to writing and recording personalized songs for patients in hospice, hospital, and nursing home facilities, along with first responders and healthcare workers who care for them, as a way to honor legacy and bring peace to patients & families. ASFY features personalized, newly created songs, as requested by family members, social workers, and/or others for their loved one in care. Original songs are written and recorded by a wide variety of accomplished musicians: from local to Grammy award winning, & award nominated songwriters, and then played for the individual in care. We have been touched by the generous response to this project from the artist, healthcare, and journalist community alike. Publications like NBC, ABC, PEOPLE Magazine, and Upworthy have all featured stories on this project, and hospices across the country have offered it to its patients and families.

    ASFY seeks a Part time Executive Director who combines a can-do attitude, with professionalism and passion for the transformative effects of music. The Part time ED must possess the ability to multitask, develop strong relationships, take initiative, and work autonomously.

    We are looking for someone was has either a playbook (plan or work experience) and/or a network ( trusted philanthropists interested in new experiences)

    Candidates must have a proven track record of effective leadership, including planning and management experience, overseeing growth of an organization, and fundraising.

    Creative problem solving with excellent organizational skills to set and achieve strategic objectives within a budget are essential.

    The candidate must have proven success in fundraising, donor acquisition and corporate sponsor/foundation procurement.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Executive Director will focus on developing & securing new donors, continuing relationships with ongoing donors, as well as developing and implementing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies to grow the fundraising platform of ASFY. The Director, along with the Founder, will build on the momentum of the charity, while developing a solid fundraising strategy and implementation plan

    In addition, the ED will work with individual donors, high net worth donors and family/private foundations to secure funding for ASFY’s mission through unrestricted/flexible funding, restricted/designated gifts focused on ASFY’s core programs, planned gifts, and support for all campaigns.

    ED will also support Founder on Board Development

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
    • Minimum of 3-5 years experience and a proven track record in fundraising, development, and/or grant writing, preferably within a non-profit or arts organization

    Experience and working knowledge of razors edge and other fundraising platforms, is a plus

    • Excellent time management/communication skills
    • Excellent written/oral interpersonal skills with high degree of professionalism
    • Exhibits sound and appropriate judgment while displaying appropriate work ethic
    • Aligns work with strategic goals

    ( Ideally looking for someone with a long track record of fundraising and development for small start-up- non-profits)

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & TASKS

    • Organize and manage fundraising events and campaigns, including galas, cultivation events, corporate memberships, donor recognition events, new membership levels, and special projects
    • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with ASFY's mission and programs
    • Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to foundations, corporations, and government agencies
    • Maintain calendar of grant events, grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions
    • Prepare donor acknowledgment letters, stewardship reports, and other correspondence
    • Provide administrative support to the Founder as needed
    • Assist in the preparation of board meeting materials
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all fundraising activities, including budgets, projections, and outcomes
    • Collaborate with the volunteer marketing team to develop and disseminate promotional materials related to fundraising initiatives
    • Generate ideas that communicate the mission, vision, and values to ensure long-term opportunities that can be leveraged to raise awareness and funds for ASFY

    RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND REVENUE GENERATING ACTIVITIES will be the majority of the bulk of this role for ASFY—
