    Description

    The Admissions/Marketing Coordinator represents Calhoun to prospective families and supports their admissions process. This is a unique opportunity that combines student and parent-facing admissions work with contributing to our social media presence and storytelling This position also manages the Calhoun social media presence and serves as the liaison between the admissions and communications departments to optimize Calhoun’s social media engagement.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

    There is a unique duality of responsibilities with this position, connecting admissions activities with marketing and social media content contribution:

    Admissions Liaison:

    • Answer phone calls from prospective families and speak knowledgeably and professionally about Calhoun
    • Facilitate campus tours, execute admissions-related events, and build relationships within and beyond Calhoun
    • Enter and manipulate data in our Finalsite database
    • Schedule tours and interviews; coordinate and communicate weekly schedules for multiple constituencies
    • Organize, manage, and track prospective student files, physical and electronic
    • Support admissions events, including occasional evening and weekend events
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the admissions office
    • While experience in a school setting is not specifically required, must be capable of communicating with people of various ages and backgrounds
    • Describe Calhoun's commitment to diversity and equity to prospective families
    • Greet and interact with students and parents

    Marketing/Social Media Content Contributor:

    • Coordinate social media content and collaborate on strategy with admissions and communications teams
    • Coordinate and execute mailings and emails
    • Ability to write well, enjoys brainstorming creative ideas, and ability to gather content via phone and video

    SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Requires occasional evening and weekend work participating in events at Calhoun.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally on the telephone and in person
    • Experience creating engaging content for social media platforms
    • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams to strategically curate creative content for social media platforms
    • Experience with data entry and database manipulation
    • Experience with spreadsheets
    • Experience managing multiple internal and external schedules
    • Experience with organizing physical and digital files
    • Experience as a contributing member of a collaborative, open-spaced office
    • Experience supporting institutional diversity/equity work
    • Ability to complete tasks independently
    • Ability to check and edit work for accuracy
    • Ability to engage and communicate with students, faculty and administration in a preschool-12th grade setting
    • Ability to understand multiple perspectives and life experiences
    • Bachelor’s degree

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK REQUIREMENTS

    Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk up stairs, stand, sit, walk, talk, hear and see. Requires occasional carrying of admissions materials up to 10 pounds.

    Time demands: The job requires occasional evening work and occasional weekend work.
