About EG Justice:

EG Justice is an international nonprofit organization that promotes human rights, transparency, and the rule of law to build a just Equatorial Guinea. Working with the people and advocates, we document violations, use legal and non-legal mechanisms to seek redress for those violations and connect local actors to resources to bring about substantive reform in the country. We see a future where every person has access to food, shelter, health care, education, and a safe and sustainable livelihood. We hope to help build a country where human rights are protected, resources and power are shared equitably, and citizens can freely elect their leaders and hold them accountable.

Summary 

We seek a part-time employee to help monitor grant activities and undertake bookkeeping responsibilities to join our small team of dedicated professionals working toward a more free, fair, and just Equatorial Guinea.

As Grant Administrator, they will help monitor grant compliance on behalf of EG Justice, including the monitoring of deadlines and requirements to maintain funding from our grant sources. They will also provide bookkeeping support in keeping track of expenditures and budgets for the organization. 

Responsibilities 

Grant Administration

  • Monitor grants and grant-related activities, including policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure grant compliance and management by developing and maintaining a detailed calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in researching potential grant opportunities and sources of funding. 

Bookkeeping 

  • Help prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports and financial statements.
  • Keep track of organization-related expenditures throughout the year.
  • Ensure travel-related bookings and payment of travel expenses.

Requirements/Qualifications 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Preferable understanding of government grant writing and federal lending programs.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and adjust to frequently changing demands.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Understanding of financial concepts related to a non-profit organization.
  • Ability to implement new policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a small team.
