    Description

    The Receptionist / Office Manager / Research Assistant serves an integral role in the office, supporting the daily operations of Bryant Park Corporation and 34th Street Partnership. This individual’s primary responsibilities include handling incoming calls and responding to emails from the public; facilitating meetings, including weekly all-staff meetings; ordering office supplies and maintaining common areas; communicating with building management; handling and distributing deliveries and mail; tracking operational data; and presenting narrative and statistical reports.

    This is a growth-oriented position with opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities within the companies will be added to this position if the individual demonstrates initiative, growth, and proficiency in their tasks. These additional responsibilities may include conducting various research projects, managing recurring public programs, and developing new ideas for programming and activities.

    The Receptionist / Office Manager / Research Assistant reports to the Vice President of Operations. Office hours are typically 8:45am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday. Although this position is primarily based in the executive office of BPC/34SP, the position will also involve some outdoor work, and candidates should be comfortable operating in a variety of weather conditions. Due to the nature of managing public spaces and events, candidates must also be willing to work occasional nights and weekends. This job is fully in-person, with no option for remote work.

    An ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest in urban studies, public spaces, program and event management, economic development, and/or real estate, as there are opportunities for advancement related to these fields within the organization.

    The salary for this role is $47,000-$52,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits such as health insurance are included.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Patience, punctuality, and organizational skills
    • Ability to multi-task and work with several people at the same time
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is desirable but not required.
