    Description

    Are you energized by mobilizing individuals and resources to fuel bold progress toward civil rights and collective liberation? We invite you to consider joining us!

    About You

    We are looking for a skilled fundraiser and development professional with a strategic vision for long term income sustainability and a track record of growing and diversifying an organization’s funding base to meet multi-year budget needs. This person is someone devoted to community-based social justice movements and dismantling unjust systems, passionate about racial and economic justice, and eager to galvanize LCCRSF’s team of enthusiastic fundraisers including the Board, staff, LCCRSF Members, and contract professionals to maximize resources to fulfill its ambitious mission. This person will take an immediate leadership role on the management team and be an essential caretaker of the organization’s overall well-being. This position works closely with an exceptional development team that includes the executive director, grants manager, communications manager, and communications coordinator.

    About LCCRSF

    As one of the most enduring civil rights institutions on the West Coast, LCCRSF works to dismantle systems of oppression and racism and to build an equitable and just society.

    Formed in 1968 to bridge the legal community and the Civil Rights Movement, we’re known for advancing the rights of people of color, immigrants, refugees, and low-income individuals. We also invest in legal fellows and support a network of over 1,000 active pro bono attorneys and volunteers. We use all the tools available to make systemic change on behalf of Bay Area community and local movements: direct services, impact litigation, policy advocacy and communications.

    Our current work includes:

    • Litigation to end San Francisco’s draconian practice of policing homeless residents who have committed no crime but sleeping in public amidst the City’s massive affordable housing shortage, and other fines and fees advocacy to end the criminalization of poverty;
    • Services and advocacy for BIPOC and low-income entrepreneurs and commercial tenants;
    • Asylum services and conditions of confinement litigation under the new Accountability in Detention Act to end abuses and profit incentives in private immigration detention.

    We are in this work for the long haul. Our goal is to make this work sustainable, to rest as needed and take care of each other and our communities, so we can be fierce in the face of power through our core issue areas of Racial Justice, Immigrant Justice and Economic Justice.
