    Overview

    Bpeace is seeking a results-driven Director of Foundation and Major Gift Partnerships to spearhead the identification and cultivation of new funding relationships in the U.S. and Latin America. This role is critical for driving revenue growth through strategic high-impact relationships, with major donors and foundations.

    This position is responsible for shaping and implementing the strategy of the foundation partnerships program and the major donor partnership program, enabling ambitious fundraising growth. They will secure, grow, and diversify existing partners and execute a new business strategy that attracts and secures new partnerships to deliver transformative impact at scale.

    We expect the ideal candidate will balance their time between new foundation partnerships (75%) and individual major donor partnerships (25%), while also managing a core group of existing donors, partners, and networks. This division of time is only an estimate. The successful candidate will work with the CEO to determine how to best resource their time after an analysis of opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy

    • Lead on shaping and implementing the foundation partnerships strategy and the major donor partnerships strategy with a goal of $300,000 in new partnership revenue within the 2025 fiscal year (10/1/24-9/30/25) while partnering with the CEO to shape ambitious growth over the next three years.
    • Shape comprehensive partner strategies with the team including strategies that incorporate technical programmatic needs and key relationship management strategies that leverage the CEO, Leadership, and other team members to achieve multi-year, multi-faceted, and multimillion-dollar partnerships.
    • Work with philanthropic entities and different Bpeace teams to discover broader, integrative opportunities.
    • Develop and implement the strategy for prospecting of new partnerships through research and trends to help position Bpeace ahead of major funding changes.
    • Partner with Marketing and Communications on thought leadership opportunities to strengthen brand value with foundation partnerships and leverage foundation brand value for our broader donor base.

    Relationship Building

    • Build and nurture relationships leading to significant new revenue.
    • Manage, directly and indirectly, key relationships with the Bpeace Program team.
    • Identify and establish contact with prospective donors, (this includes foundations with aligned interest, and individual major donors) securing invitations to Calls for Proposals (CfPs) and opening doors to pitch major gift options.
    • Maintain a broad network of prospect donors aligned with Bpeace’s mission and focus areas.

    Proposal Development

    • Screen and assess CfPs .
    • Understand and develop program concepts, and services and write customized and compelling pitches, tailored to partner interests.
    • Coordinate internal meetings for pitch structuring.
    • Manage small-scale proposals independently and support team efforts on larger, complex proposals.

    Communications

    • Partner with the MarComm Director and Operations Associate to create marketing and collateral materials targeting new donor categories, and presentations/reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    Partnerships Database

    • Further the team’s use of systems and data essential to effective major donor fundraising; and coach the team on prioritization and aspiration to deliver impact with a focus on six figure gifts from high-net-worth individual donors and prospects.
    • Analyze reports for trend analysis, pipeline updates, and other insights for Bpeace leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Exceptional writing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and compelling narratives.
    • 8+ years of experience in developing strategic relationships to support global non-profit missions.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and close new sources of funding from national foundations, corporations, and individuals.
    • Experience with government agencies, foundations, major donors, and diverse funding sources.
    • Proven ability to analyze consumer insights and develop products/programs that align to their needs.
    • Strong research skills for identifying and assessing potential funders and opportunities.
    • Proficiency with Salesforce and familiarity with preparing presentations and reports.
    • Understanding of financial budgets and collaboration with finance teams for accurate proposals.
    • Experience living or working internationally with diverse cultures is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong client/customer service orientation and a drive for results.
    • Project, process, and event management skills.
    • Persuasive communication skills.
